Visa Requirement to Travel to Bhutan.
Travelers to Bhutan must obtain a visa prior to their arrival in the country. The visa application process is typically facilitated through a licensed travel agency in Bhutan, as individual applications are not accepted. To apply for a visa, travelers need to provide a valid passport, a completed visa application form, and a passport-sized photograph.
It’s important to note that a visa will only be issued once the traveler has booked a tour package with an approved tour operator, which includes accommodation, meals, and a guide. Upon arrival, travelers will receive a visa stamp in their passport, which is valid for up to 30 days and can be extended if necessary.
Additionally, travelers from India, Bangladesh, and the Maldives can enter Bhutan without a visa, but they still need to present a valid passport or national ID. Overall, it’s advisable to start the visa process well in advance of your travel dates to ensure a smooth entry into this beautiful Himalayan kingdom.
