Day 1: Arrival in Paro & Scenic Drive to Thimphu Welcome to Bhutan! Upon your arrival at Paro International Airport, soak in the breathtaking views of the Himalayas as you embark on a scenic drive to Thimphu, the vibrant capital city. Check into your hotel and take some time to relax and acclimatize. In the evening, enjoy a leisurely stroll through the charming streets of Thimphu, where you can catch a glimpse of local life. Overnight at a comfortable hotel in Thimphu.
Day 2: Discovering Thimphu After a hearty breakfast, set out to explore Thimphu’s unique blend of tradition and modernity. Visit iconic landmarks such as the Tashichho Dzong, the National Memorial Chorten, and the towering Buddha Dordenma statue. In the afternoon, enjoy some free time to wander through the bustling markets, where you can shop for exquisite handicrafts and souvenirs. Day 3: Culinary Delights – Bhutanese Cooking Class Start your day with a delightful breakfast before diving into the world of Bhutanese cuisine. Day 4: Journey to Punakha & Cultural Exploration After breakfast, participate in a brief cooking session before embarking on a picturesque drive to Punakha Valley. En route, stop at the breathtaking Dochula Pass, where you can marvel at the 108 stupas and panoramic views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival in Punakha, visit the stunning Punakha Dzong, known as the “Palace of Great Happiness.” Conclude your day with a visit to the sacred Chimi Lhakhang, the temple of fertility. Day 5: Return to Paro with Cultural InsightsAfter breakfast, embark on your journey back to Paro. Stop at Dochula Pass for some last-minute photos and continue your drive through the picturesque Thimphu Valley. In Paro, visit the serene Kyichu Monastery and the majestic Paro Dzong. Day 6: Hike to the Iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery Fuel up with breakfast before embarking on an unforgettable hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang). The hike takes approximately 2 hours each way, rewarding you with breathtaking views and a sense of spiritual serenity at this sacred site.
